Questions about MRCS - important for me

Greetings;

I am an Egyptian student at the 6th year, (final) of School of Medicine Ain Shams University. and I want to be specialized in the Cardiac Surgery ...

I plan to take MRCS exam after I finish, here are my Questions:
1- It's now available in Egypt to pass all the exam here, does it make a difference to pass it in Egypt, instead of UK? I mean, when I apply for a job in UK, will this affect my acceptance?

2- is it a must to pass the PLAB exam before getting the MRCS, as I want to continue my career in UK?

3- Can I apply for a residency in UK before taking my MRCS?

4- My career is not just about the cardiac surgery, is there chances for research work in UK, after taking MRCS?

I do appreciate you read my questions..

Warm regards;

Given you're not from the EU you'll probably have a hard time getting a job in the UK. Do some research on whether you can apply competitively at ST or FY level as an IMG (international medical graduate).

Dear Nathanael:

I appreciate your reply... but what are ST and FY?

Thanks a lot.

it's foundation year and specialty training. First check out if you're eligible to apply for MTAS, which is the system that manages the foundation programme.

I'm sorry to say this, but it's pretty hard for IMGs seeking employment in the UK right now.
