Does anyone know the number of applicants, offers and places?
I'd really appreciate it.
27 posts and no one ones to reply??
Meant to say views not posts............................
Have you considered the people that viewed this don't know the answer to your question? Have you googled it? Checked the student room? Checked oxford uni website? Emailed the university admissions department? You are allowed to research the answer alongside waiting for someone here to answer your question.
I know its frustrating if you really want to know something, but I would definitely check TAR as I've seen something on there in regard to places v applications before, will look for the link.
TSR not TAR, damn auto correct!
Yes I have been research for a while rachaelc.
Just very unsuccessful at getting results. Thanks for being kind enough to post.
240 applications for 30 places in 2007 according to Medschoolsonline
I doubt the numbers change significantly year-on-year but I'm sure their admissions staff would be happy to release the info if you gave them a call!
Thank you DJhonson.
Does anyone know how many people are invited to interview for the GEP? Have just exhausted google and wondered if anyone has better insight than I have.
A second question: does anyone know what the overall algorithm (if one exists) is that Oxford use in determining who gets an offer? What I mean is, does the UKCAT score, educational attainment, etc, prior to interview still matter after the interview, or is everyone on a level playing field at the interview and beyond?
Thanks in advance.
If there was a published algorithm then we would know whether we would be given an offer before we even applied! How cool would that be?! Apart from interview, I suppose. I've not been able to find any info of intervieweeslaces. Would be nice to know. Perhaps email Lesley Maitland? I would but I now have to run into town to get my suit tailored and my hair cut. (for Imperial next week - i've not preempted an Ox interview!)
I can't remember where I saw it but I think they interview 90 people for GEP, making for a 3:1 ratio. Not sure I like those odds!
As for the other bit I wondered about, my incessant googling hasn't helped at all. Anyone?
Eeeeeee.....I don't like those odds at all. Imperial is 2:1ish and that is bad enough.
Found it: Information on Oxford Medical School graduate entry from ISC Medical
Not sure that they've stuck to that for this year, or that this is even accurate!
they say on website somewhere that they expect to interview ~3 applicants for every place
Finally booked my flights.
Out of curiosity, are any other non-UK/EU students applying? There are only 7 spots total for international students each year, so the prospectus says only 1 or 2 for GEP. I knew that when I chose to apply but it doesn't make it any less scary!
380 applicants for 2012 entry;
28 places available (so 2 people last year must have deferred entry).
