    Hi,
Is anyone applying to Oxford graduate med for 2013 entry? They now require the BMAT, rather than UKCAT - is anyone put off by this?

That would have put me off for sure! Good luck though, plenty of time to practise :)

Why did they change it to the BMAT?

I don't know why they changed it. As far as I'm aware, they're the only graduate course that requires the BMAT. I wonder if this will deter some people from applying, or simply attract more motivated applicants.

Django, I see you'll be at Worcester. Hope you enjoy it :)

I have no idea, at this point. I'll see how the UKCAT goes. I think I will apply to Cambridge, but not sure about the rest. What about you?

I am thinking Edinburgh, Imperial GEP. Then with 2 more choices, I am not so sure about. I am international so it will be hard to select int. friendly schools. Of course, it also depend on the UKCAT.

I did. Which college have you applied to? What's your background? How are you feeling about the BMAT?

Hi :) I applied to Harris-Manchester. Educated to masters level but no phd which is worrying me a wee tad, as they do seem to like their phd-ers! Argh i'm not chuffed about the BMAT tbh...the actual material is ok but i'm no where near close to finishing a paper in time. Tbh I just feel burnt out with the whole application process now. Will be nice when it's all over! How about yourself? Whats your background?

I also have a Masters, but no PhD. Also a bit worried! Where did you study previously?
I am far too tired after work to go over BMAT stuff! :s

Tell me about it. I'm normally such a stress head when it comes to exams, but I've lost all motivation now. Studying for the BMAT last night turned into playing guitar and chatting to my flat mate! I think if it was for any of my other three Uni's I'd be more focused, but tbh I'm expecting to be rejected from Oxford no matter what the outcome of the BMAT is. So it's hard to get motivated. I won't say exactly where I studied, but it is an ex-poly haha...what am I thinking?!? :-O

    Hello everyone,

I am also applying to Oxford this year - though I am probably the least likely candidate by a long shot.
Hopefully they like to take risks :)

I'm actually pretty excited about the BMAT, but will probably be eating my own hand come next week
    Good luck everyone!

I'm also not particularly motivated because I assume that they'll reject me anyway!

Excited about BMAT?? How is that even possible!? Spending my whole weekend re-learning GCSE physics and writing practice essays is about the last thing I fancy after a week in work haha

I feel like I need to re-learn GCSE biology and chemistry, even though I studied biochemistry at uni!
Also finding it difficult to motivate myself after a week of work..

Well Oxford, it was a nice ride while it lasted! Bmat = horrendous. My own fault. Not enough preparation. However how anyone can attempt that science paper in half an hour is beyond me.

Yes, I thought it was harder. It did not go well for me! How did you find section 1 and the essay?
